Ques. During that 13 months have you known Mr.
Sampson. Ans. Yes, well.
Ques. Do you know Peter Haines. Ans. By sight.
Ques. Have you been into the engine room where Mr.
Sampson and Peter were. Ans. Quite frequently,
different times of day and evening.
Ques. Have you seen Peter at work there. Ans. Yes sir.
Ques. What part of the day does he work. Ans. I should
say he worked when he pleased; that seemed to be about
the way.
