Q. And generally of a proper kind. You
dont think patients go hungry there?
A. I have stated about the meat. The meat
was not what it ought to be I think
Q. As a general thing you think they had
enough to eat, such as it was? A. Yes, sir.
Q. Do you call up many times when
the food was improper in any way, the
bread or the meat, during these four years
and a half? A. I didn't have charge of
the dining room only about a year
Q. During this year that you had charge of a 
certain table or tables were there many
instances of food not properly cooked and tainted
+c.? Or did you only refer to a few cases?
A. Those two times I showed the meat
to the Dr., and one time it was very
bad, so bad that the man was discharged
on account of it, I think; and the
other time I called it bad, and-
I forget who was there at the time with
one- they called it bad. I showed it to
Dr. Harlow and he said it was good
meat.
