Know all men by these present that I John Underwood of Kittery, Marriner do hereby nominate and Impower John Trott of Kittery aforesaid Marriner, to apprehend the Body of a Certain Negro Man called Boston which said Negro is my property and hath absconded himself from my service [text crossed out] And I do hereby Indemnify the said Trott from all Damages that may happen in his Executing the said Business Giving under my hand this 28th day of May 1777 John Underwood [signed]
