RED CROSS RELIEF PARTIES - HALIFAX [underlined]
Adjutant Gen. Geo. McL. Presson, Augusta, Maine.
Dear Sir:
Referring to our conversation in the office yesterday re- grading the matter of providing Doctors of the Maine unit, now in service at Halifax, transportation for they return trips.
Last night we received a telegram from Passenger Traffic Manager Melanson of the canadiana Govt. Rys. at Moncton stating that Captain Goodwin, of the Maine Relief Unit, requested tic- kets for members of his party returning home from time to time. Captain Goodwin informing Mr. Melanson that collection should be made through the office of the Adjutant General at Augusta. Mr. Melanson also stated some of the party were leaving last night and a few more tonight and immediately on receipt of his tele- gram we instructed him by wire to issue rail and Pullman tickets for all members of the Maine unit, advising this office trans- potation furnished and we would arrange collection.
As previously informed, we were to advise you as soon as notice was received regarding the return of the party.
