I have rec'd yours of 29th Sept enclosing Six Dollars for the balance of J Erwins taxes + enclose a receipt for the whole --

I see no prospect of selling the land very soon but should be glad to relieve[?] Mr Erwins farm [?] if I could. I can not however [?] he wanted to exchange it for Maps of Maine. If he is disposed to do this

There has been no land sold in the town this year -- I suppose this lot could not be sold at 1.50 per acre 10 years credit -- perhaps not for 1.00 -- land everywhere in this region is full + growing more so --
