Yours of 8th into inquiring the amount of taxes this yeas on Mr Erwins' land is recd -- I should have written you early in the summer but a multitude of other concerns kept it out of my mind. The amount of the taxes this year is as follows -- viz

Certain circumstances made it necessary to advertise all the  nonresident lands, for sale next March for the State, County + Town Taxes -- Mr Erwins' was of course included with the rest, but this will create no additional expenses to him, + I shall take care that he sustains no injury by it -- I believe I wrote you last year something about an exchange, but have recd no answer -- I do not recollect what I wrote. If you recd such a letter I should be glad to know what you think of it --
