I report this morning from Portland.

Geo. F. Bussell. Co. B. Me 10th has a discharge for

 disability.  July 29 - 1862

Lieut Col. E. Scammon's furlough expires Aug 18. He leaves for his reg't next Sat.

Capt. Charles D. Gilman, Co. C, 7th Reg't is having trouble about his discharge. I saw his papers. They authorize him to remain in Portland till his discharge comes.

Westbrook A.J. Forbes - Sergeant, Co. F. ME 7th is reported by Mr. Torrey Representative to be away from his reg't without leave. I have not yet succeeded in finding him.

I am happy to find that Raymond, Casco, & Standish are free from stray soldiers. I am going into some of the back towns for a few days, & may not be able to report again till Monday.
