Dear Sir - I have to day visited Grant Isle Dionne, St. Johns, St. Francis, & Fort Kent Plantations in search of Absent men from the Maine Regiments in accordance to instructions from your office and am happy although disappointed to report:
That I find no "returned soldiers' in either of these places and I am assured that none that was known, & who were enlisted in these places have returned.
