The same officer reports over-hearing a conversation concerning a man living and known in Palmyra as Turkey Jones, who seems to arouse the ire of some of his neighbors by his conversation. Gentlemen:
It has been reported to me by the Chief of Police for the Town of Pittsfield that in talking with a student from the Academy at Dover-Foxcroft it is felt that the principal of the Academy is teaching subversive matters in his class- rooms.
