I left Fort Fairfield Sept 5th 1839 accompayned [accompanied] by Wm Buffum & J Powers, I rpoceeded to township letter F and found the south line, there running E from the State road two and half miles to the corner of said Township which is about one hundred rods from Smith’s camp, between the State road and camp I found one road and some timber cut on the same. After crossing the rod [road] that leads by Smiths camp I[?] found[?] a road runing [running] NE from his landing[?], the 2d read runs E from his camp, the 3d runs NE from the camp the 4th runs ENE from camp I followed these roads and found branches runing [running] from the [?] in every direction on one road I found a camp used while making timber. I found one other camp about one mile (near the east line) from the SE corner of said Township
I scaled[?] all the timber I found and the result is as follows
The hole [whole] amount hauled away 385,985
[The hole [whole] amount] left on the ground 69,959 [sum] 455,944
