[Chairman.]
The convention was called to order by Isaac Adams Esq of Portland who was requested to officiate as Chairman during the organization.
[credentials examined]
Messrs Williams, McIntire, Joseph Adams of Portland, Spaulding & Eveleth were appointed a Committee to receive the credentials of the members and ascertain if a quorum be present - who after attending to the duty assigned them reported that a quorum was present.
[notice to Senators to come & be qualified]
Mr Green of South Berwick was requested to notify the members of the Senate that a quorum of the House of Representatives was then assembled and to invite the attendance of that branch forthwith at the Representatives chamber in order that both branches might there be qualified.
The members of the Senate came in & had seats assigned them.
[Notify governor a quorum is present ]
Mr Dane of Kennebunk was requested to inform the Governor that a quorum of both branches was assembled in the Representatives Chamber and ready to be qualified - and having attended to the duty assigned him reported that the Governor would forthwith meet them and administer to them the oaths of qualification.

Accordingly the Governor attended by the Council, Secy of State & Treasurer, preceded by the Sheriff of Cumberland came in - when the members of the Senate were first qualified by taking and subscribing the oaths & declaration required by the Constitution - after which the members of the House of Representatives aforenamed were duly qualified by taking and subscribing the oaths & declarations required by the constitution and laws of the State - The Governor and Council, Secy & Treasurer &c then withdraw - after
