Dear Sir
Mrs Hannah Estes wishes me to write you , requesting you to procure the discharge of her son Levi H. Estes from Capt Meinecke's Co., 2nd Me. Regt. She says he is 19 years old and enlisted without her consent.
She refuses to say whether he wishes to be discharged. She wants him at home only because of the help he may be to her, considering his absence a "great damage" to use her own words.
