County of Penobscot, ss, At a circuit court of common pleas begun and holden at Bangor within aforesaid county on the fourteenth Thursday of June AD 1820
On the twenty seventh day of June in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty, personally appeared in open court, being a court of record within and for said County and State of Maine, established by a law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, made and passed on the twenty seventh day of June A.D 1811, and recognized by the Constitution of the State of Maine William Forbes aged fifty eight years, resident in Bangor in said county of Penobscot, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth, on his oath, declare that he served in the Revolutionary war as follows:
I served as a private soldier in the Revolutionary War in the company commanded by Capt. Jackson in the second Massachusetts Regiment commanded by Col. Sprague in the continental establishment under a three years enlistment and was honorably discharged on the 31st day of December 1783 as is set forth in my original declaration made on the 5th day of April 1818 in which declaration pension certificate numbered 9,074 was granted.
Schedule of the family of William Forbes who by occupation was a husbandman. I am afflicted with the Rheumatism and [?].

My wife Lucy Forbes, 41 years, slender constitution and sickly Son Jefferson Forbes, 19 years, good health, works for me, goes to school Son Daniel Forbes, 18 years, Unable to work on account of fever [?] Son George Forbes, 16 years, Frequently affected with bilious cholic Daughter Sally Forbes, 11 years Son Chas. Henry Forbes, 7 years Daughter Lucy Griffin Forbes, 2 years
And I William Forbes do solemnly swear, that I was a resident of the United States on the eighteenth day of March One Thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen, and I have not since that time, by gift, sale, or in any manner whatever, disposed of my property, or any part thereof, with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an act of Congress, entitled "An act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War," passed on the eighteenth day of March One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighteen, and I have not, nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities, contracts or debts, due to me: nor I have any income, other than what is contained scheduled hereto annexed, and by me subscribed
