Ordered that Messrs Sewall of Edgecomb, Smith of Nobleboro & Page of Readfield be a committee to enquire what alterations are necessary to be made in the Laws of this State respecting the office of Sheriff of Sheriffs fees &c read & passed.

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Balkam & Francis with such as the House may join, a committee to make inquiry how far the 18th section of an act entitled an act providing for the relief, and support, employment and removal of the poor" has been complied with so far as relates to that part of said 18th section enacting "that all monies accruing for licences granted to retailers, inholders and victuallers shall be paid into the respective town
