256 A message was received from the Governor in relation to the doings of the Attorney General respecting Turnpike Roads in Cumberland read and referred, with accompanying documents to the Committee on the Judiciary in concurrence

  The Committee on Parishes reported leave to withdraw on petition of the selectmen of the town of Avon read and accepted on concurrence.

Resolve in aid of Waterville College (reported in the House by the Committee on Literary Institutions, on petition of Trustees of Waterville College, was read once, and the question of indefinite postponement, in concurrence with the House, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit; Yeas Messrs. Bartlett, Brown, Chandler, Clark, Fish, F Greene, Latham, Manter, Miller, McIntire, McLellan, Prescott and Read 13 Nays. Messrs. Allen, Barnard, Burnham, Ammons, Farnham, C Greene, O'Brien, Purinton and Smith - 9

The President, Mr Pierce, for special reasons, was excused from voting on the question.

 Mr Bartlett, from the Committee on Incorporation of Towns, reported reference to next Legislature on petition of Jesse Brown and others and Amos Decker and others - read and accepted.
 Sent down for concurrence.  Concurred.
