120 State transmitting copies of the returns made to his office under a Resolve for ascertaining the number and expense of supporting the poor throughout the State" passed March 10th 1834, which was read & referred in concurrence with the Senate, to the Committee who have under consideration so much of the Governors message as relates to Pauperism.

A message was received from the Governor under date of February 2d 1835 [see appendix page 353] informing the Legislature that a vacancy exists in the office of Major General of the Eighth Division of the Militia of this State.

Leave to withdraw was ordered in concurrence with the Senate on the petition of the Inh. of Norridgewock " on the petition of the Selectmen of New Sharon

Report on petition of Joseph Carter was recommitted in concurrence with the Senate to the Committee on Military pensions, with instructions to report a Resolve in favor of the petitioner.

The House recede from their former votes on the Report on petition of E. Richardson & others and concur the Senate in accepting the report granting leave to withdraw.

The House concur the Senate in recommitting the Report on the petition of James Thomas & others to the Committee on Banks & Banking.

Petition of Isaac Hodgdon & others for the repeal of the law for the abolition of imprisonment of honest debtors of debt, passed in 1831 was referred in concurrence with the Senate to the Committee on the Judiciary.
