A communication was received from the Governor under date of 29th ult [see appendix page 352] transmitting the report of William D Williamson, one of the Bank Commissioners, which was read and referred in concurrence with the Senate to the Committee on Banks & Banking.
Bill to set off a tract of land from Lewiston to Greene was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at ten 'clock assigned for a 3d reading.
Report on the order instructing the Committee on State Roads to enquire into the expediency of making an appropriation to pay the contingent expenses for the survey of a road from Augusta to some point on the highlands in a direction to Quebec, that legislation is inexpedient was accepted in concurrence with the Senate.
