Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on the Judiciary to inquire into the expediency of so altering the Law; that in all cases where both Plaintiffs and Defendant shall desire to plead specially, they may be permitted so to do. - read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, directing the Committee on the Militia to inquire what alterations (if any) there ought to be in the law for governing and diciplining [disciplining] the Militia of this State. - read and passed in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions to inquire into the expediency of providing for the payment, to such towns, whose officers have heretofore neglected to make their school returns, such portions of the school funds as was appropriated for the purpose; and that they be further instructed to inquire into the expediency of imposing a penalty for neglect of duty on town and plantation officers who are required by law to make such returns - read and passed in concurrence.

Mr. Greene, from the Committee on the Judiciary to which was referred "Bill providing for the election of County Commissioners," reported that said Bill ought not pass. - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Mr. Jarvis gave notice, that tomorrow at eleven o clock, he should call up the Report of the Committee on Banks and Banking, which was
