Monday, February 9, 1935

On motion of Mr. Barnard, Ordered, that a special message be sent to the Governor, informing him of the election of Asa Redington Jr. as Treasurer of State and of his acceptance of that office, and also of the acceptance of the Treasurer's Pond, by both branches of the Legislature; that he may take and subscribe the necessary oaths -- read and passed; and Mr. Barnard was directed to take charge of said message.

On motion of Mr. Prescott, Ordered, that the Committee that have under consideration the subjects relating to the Steam Navigation Company be instructed to inquire and report what course ought to be adopted in relation to the Bond signed by the managers of the Oxford and Cumberland Canal Lottery. And also that said Committee be instructed and authorized to send, forthwith, for persons and papers and to summon witnesses, if by them deemed necessary, touching the several subjects, submitted to them relating to both Companies, as aforesaid -- read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

On motion of Mr Barnard, Ordered, that the Joint Select Committee, to which was referred the Treasurer's report, be authorized to settle with Mark Harris, Esq. late Treasurer of State, to receive the property in the Treasurer's from said Harris and transfer the same to Asa Redington Jr. Treasurer, elect, and that said Committee be directed to make out a schedule of said property and lodge the same in the office of the Secretary of State - read and passed. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred
