Mr. Randall, from the Select Committee of the Senate to which was referred the Resolve in favor of Prentiss Mellen, made a report recommending the Senate to recede and concur with the House in refusing said Resolve a passage --- read and accepted.
The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported as correctly engrossed, Resolve providing for the appointment of School Commissioners and the question of finally passing the same, being ordered to be taken by yeas and nays, was decided in the affirmative as follows, to wit: Yeas. Messrs. Barnard, Bartlett, Burnham, Chandler, Emmons, Farnham, F. Greene, McLellan, Prescott, Randall and Read, 11. Nays. Messrs. Allen, Brown, Clark, Fish, Latham, Mantor, Miller, Pierce, Purinton and Tobin, 10.
