Should Mr Cushman be in Houlton he will make the complaints if he should not be if you will send me some blanks I will get Mr Bartlett to [?] the complaint here, I have asked the favor of Mr Packard to appoint Mr Pattee of your [?] to take the place of Maj. Thompson who has gone out. I wish to have a writ made against one James MacIan[?] of your county and his right to certain mills & lands on the Great Machias is No 15 -5 range attached for the sum of $210 – The circumstances of the case are there[?] he bought of a settler a lot of timber below the boom and carried it away which property belonged to the state cut or stolen by the man who sold it.
