A message was received from the Governor and read in the following words [see appendix page 223] and sent up to the Senate.

Ordered that Messrs Eveleth, Elden & Fitch be a committee to take into consideration the expediency of making an amendment to the law entitled "An act regulating Towns, town meetings and the choice of Town Officers" - read and passed - Sent up for concurrence.
