We feel that arrangements should be made immediately to have a filling up, as it will take some time to enlist 500 good, suitable men to fill up a broken regiment, but with a little energy, it can be done quite soon. Nearly or quite a company I am told, can be satisfied[?] in the town of Hampden, Col. Porter of Gowell, who will be elected to legislature tomorrow I think, has often told me that he could raise a good company in his representative district. He has been a military[?] man, and I think it would be well to let him enlist, all the good men he can find up soon[?].
