General Hodsdon

Sir

It will be imposable [impossible] for me to enlist a Band for the Cavalry Reg as I proposed to do.

The men that I had here engaged, and depended upon going, have deceived me and will not enlist now at all, and I should not trust to go with out them. I supposed the men that I had would all go and that I was safe in offering a Band but as it is they will not, and I shall have to give it up

Your Servant E. H. Goodale
