General Captain A.B. Farnham company H having on account of ill health tendered his resignation, you will please make the following promotions and forward commissions, as soon as possible sir 1st Lieut Frank A Garnsey promoted to Captain 2nd " Horatio Staples " " 1st Lieut Sergeant Joseph B. Forbes " " 2nd Lieut In relation to the promotion of Srgt Kittredge company D, it is perhaps better to wait, altho I rec'd orders from Head Quarters to at once fill up all existing vacancies, but as yet I know of no final disposition of officers still prisoners in the land of Dixie.
