115. Benjamin Quimby Representative elect from the town of Westbrook to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Levi Morrill, appeared, presented his credentials, was qualified & took his seat as a member of this House.
Petition of Samuel Davis for leave to change his name was read & referred to the committee on change of names.
Petition of Phillip Morrill & others against the incorporation of any more Banks in this State &c was read and copies ordered to be printed and that the same be referred to the Committee on Banks & Banking.
Bill to incorporate the Proprietors of Canton Point Bridge, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
Bill to increase the Capital Stock of the Bank of Portland, was read a second time & Monday next at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3rd reading.
Leave to withdraw, was ordered in concurrence with the Senate on the petition of Nelson Savage & others
& on the petition of Eben Sawyer & als.
