Petition of David Perkins & others for the abolition of capital punishment, was read & referred to the joint select committee who have that subject under consideration. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of the Inhb of Kilmarnock for aid in making a road in said town, was read & referred to the committee on State Roads. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Benjamin Flint praying that the name of Benjamin F. Chapman may be altered was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

Remonstrance of Benjamin Underwood & others agst the erection of a boom across the Passadumkeag River was read & referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals. Sent up for concurrence.

A message was received from the Senate proposing a Convention of the two Houses in the Representatives Hall on Wednesday next at 11 o'clock for the purpose of electing a Treasurer of State. The House concurred and the Clerk by message acquainted the Senate therewith.
