Messrs. Mantor and Greene of Somerset appeared and were conducted to the Governor & Council, by Mr. Clark, and were qualified according to the Constitution and took their seats at the Senate Board.
Bill authorizing the United States of America to take and hold lands within this State for the purpost of erecting Light-houses thereon (reported by Mr Smith from the Joint Special Committee to which was referred the petition of John Chandler) was read once and tomorrow at ten o'clock assigned for a second reading.
On motion of Mr. Greene of York Ordered, that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to take into consideration the expediency of purchasing for the use of the State a suitable number of Copies of the first volume of Fairfield Reports, and report thereon. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.
