My Dear Son it is with pleasure that I seat myself at this time to answer your kind letter which was received a few days ago but was very bisy making out the pay rolls so I could not well answer it before was glad to hear you were all well my health is about the same as when I wrote last every thing here is about the same our duty is not very hard here we have to go our on picket about three miles once a week and do the camp duty which is not very hard the boys are all prety well and waiting anxiously for the time to go home which is fast approaching the boys all send their respects to you and Joe Herrden old major went out yesterday and catched a grey squerrell and brought in to
