� State of Maine County of Penobscot Ss. On this twenty fifth day of June, eighteen hundred and twenty three, personally appeared in open Court, to wit, in the Court of Common Pleas holden at Bangor, within and for said County in the State of Maine, the same being a Court of Record which proceeds according to the course of the common law with unlimited jurisdiction as to amount [inserted] Wiliam Davis, resident of Eddington in Said County aged fifty eight years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath made the following declaration in order to obtain the provision made by the Acts of eighteenth of March, Eighteen hundred and eighteen, the first of May, Eighteen hundred and twenty, and the first of March Eighteen hundred and twenty three; and that the said William Davis enlisted for the term of three years on the [blank] day of January in the year seventeen hundred and eighty one, in the State of Massachusetts, in the com-pany commanded by Captain Robert Walker in the Regiment commanded by Colonel Henry Jackson in the line of the State of Massachusetts on the Continental Establishment, that he continued to serve in the corps + in [?], [?], [?] [inserted] until October 1782, when he was discharged from the said service at West Point in the State of New York. And I do solemnly swear that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the 18th of March, 1818, and that I have not since that time by gift, sale or in any manner disposed of my prop-erty, or any part thereof with intent thereby so to diminish it as to bring myself within the provisions of an Act of Congress, entitled "An Act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War," passed on the eighteenth day of March eighteen hundred + eighteen; and that I have not, nor has any person in trust for me, any property or securities, contracts or debts due to me, nor have I any income other than what is contained in the Schedule hereto annexed and by me subscribed.
