Dear Wife
it is with pleasure that I seat myself at this time to answer your kind letter which came safe to hand to night and I was very glad to hear that you wer all well my health is better now than it was when I wrote last and am inhopes it will remain so I will say to you that I have got my box at last all safe I had to send to Washington after it and there it was and would have staid there untill doomes day if I had not sent for it and it cost me 50cts to get it and supp- osed you had to pay 25cts to get it to Portland so that it cost as much as it would
