Testimony of Herbert Perkins. Sworn. By Mr. Baker. Ques. Have you been employed at the hospital as fireman, under Mr. Sampson. Ans. Yes sir. Ques. You knw Peter Haines well. Ans. Yes sir. Ques. What did he use to do when you were there as fireman. Ans. Wheel coal; should say he was occupied in work two or three hours in the forenoon and about the same time in the afternoon. About all that work was done in wheeling coal. In the course of the day he would carry out 5 or 5 loads of ashes, taking 3 or 4 minutes to a trip. Ques. Is the coal shed under the same roof with the engine room, and gas room. Ans. Yes, all connected In going from one to the other you would not go out doors. Ques. The fireroom and gas room are heated. Ans. Yes sir.
