[Committee -furnish towns with report of S.J. Court.]

On motion of Mr Wilkins, Ordered, that Messrs Wilkins, Folman & Bisbee be a committee to consider the expediency of providing by law for the furnishing of each town and organized plantation in this state, with one copy of the reports of the Supreme Judicial Court, with leave to report by bill or otherwise - read and passed.

The committee on the subject of revising the law, " regulating the selection, empannelling & service of Jurors - reported a Bill - report accepted.

[Bill - Juror -]

Bill, "in addition to an act regulating the selection, ompannelling and service of Jurors - was, read a 1st & 2 d time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

[Bill - public office]

Bill, "concerning certain public offices of the State" was reported with amendments which were adopted, read a third time and passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[pet. Joseph Houston]

Petition, of Joseph Houston for a pension - was, read and referred to the committee on applications from sick and wounded soldiers - sent up for concurrence.

[Senator of U.S.]

Agreeably to assignment the House proceeded to the choice, by ballot, of a Senator to represent this State in the Congress of the United States - and on taking the ballot it appeared the whole number of votes given in was 137 - and Hon John Chandler
