The Clerk communicated to the House information of the indisposition of the Speaker and his inability to attend upon the duties of the chair this day & suggested the expediency of electing a Speaker pro. tem. - and thereupon the House proceeded to the choice by ballot - the whole number of votes given in was 118 - necessary to a choice 60 - Robert P Dunlap haing 67 was declared chosen.
