On motion by Mr. Dunlap. Ordered that Messrs Dunlap, Southwick and Prime be a Committee to draft Rules and Orders for the government of the Senate during the continuance of the present Legislature
[Order respecting Messages & Papers.]
On motion by Mr. Dunlap. Ordered that all messages between the two Houses be communicated by the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House of Representatives respectively and that all papers be transmitted by them or their Assistants. Sent down for concurrence, came up concurred.
[Joint Committee to contract &c. to draft Bills & Resolves.]
Ordered of the House Representatives appointing Messrs Eveleth, Bragdon and Hodgman with such as the Senate may join to be a Committee to draft Bills and Resolves and copy other papers for the members of the Legislature, came up for concurrence, was read and concurred and Messrs Scamman and Williams were joined -

On motion by Mr. Green the Senate proceeded to the choice of a Messenger. the Committee appointed to receive, sort and count the votes, reported that the whole number of votes was 13 all of which were for John Merrill, who was declared duly elected
