An order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the committee on new Trials to enquire what alterations are necessary in the several laws relating to the punishment of crimes - & the House concurred.
[Acceptance of Counsellor]
A communication was received from John Balkam Esquire signifying his acceptance as Counsellor the ensuring political year.
[Petition]
Petition of Eliashib Adams & als of Bangor & vicinity for the establishment of a Bank at Bangor to be called Merchants Bank was read & referred to the committee on Banks & Banking. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered, that the committee on Military Affairs, be instructed to enquire into the expediency of providing by law for furnishing the Militia at the expense of the towns to which the several companies belong with suitable refreshment on days of Brigade or Regimental Inspection - read & passed.
