On motion of Mr Vance, Ordered, that the Senate be requested to send to this House, the petition of William Norwood & als, now on their files of the present session. read & passed.

[Removal of James M Rogers &c]

The committee to whom was referred the petition of William Stinson & als, for the removal of James M Rogers from the offices he now holds under this State - reported an address to the Governor & Council - also the causes for his removal - and also that the causes of removal be entered on the Journal of the Senate & a true copy thereof, attested by the Secretary of the Senate, be served on the said Rogers by William Stinson of the Bowdoinham, who shall deliver the same to the said Rogers in person forthwith & notify him to appear before the Legislature on Saturday the eighth day of February current at 10' oclock in the forenoon to be heard in his defence, & shew cause, if any he have, why he should not be removed from every Office he now holds under this state - which report, being accepted in Senate, & the cause of removal entered upon the journals, came down for concurrence - & The House concurred.
