[James M Rogers Case again]

A copy of the indictment, verdict thereon & motion in arrest of Judgment in case State of Maine vs James M Rogers for passing Counterfeit money was presented, read & sent up.

[Committee - regulations for government of States Prison]

An order came from the Senate for concurrence appointing Messrs Dennet & Green with such as the House may join a committee to enquire as to the expediency of appointing a committee to digest a code of rules & regulations for the government of the States prison - and also to examine the criminal jurisprudence of the State and report by bill or otherwise on those subjects to the next Legislature - The House concurred & Messrs Elden, Adams of P. & Parsons were joined.

[Report - engrossing Clerks]

Report of committee to prepare a Resolve for the payment of the engrossing Clerks & also the scribe, of a Resolve - was read & accepted.

[Resolve - paying engrossing Clerks &c &c]

Resolve making appropriation for paying William B Sewall & the engrossing Clerks - was read twice & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

[Report - contingent fund]

the committee to enquire what sum it is expedient to place as a contingent fund at the disposal of the Governor - reported a Resolve - report accepted.

[Resolve - contingent fund at disposal of Governor]

Resolve appropriating the sum of 500$ as a contingent fund to be placed at the disposal of the Governor, was read twice & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.
