Since writing the above Dr Palmer called and told me that he had rec'd his commission as surgeon, Dr Bricket as asst surg.
There are complaints among a small portion of the men about rations – say they don’t get enough to eat. I have looked into the matter and find that they get daily all that is allowed them and they are generally of the best quality.
