Bangor Oct 22nd 1862 Dear Sir Your letter written some days since, I have just rcd having returned from Washington last Evening. As to new appointments I have none just at present to suggest to you Capt Emerson I understand from Lt Col Varney is about to resign - on account of ill health, also Capt Foss [?] of Company K. Should such be the case Col Varney will advise you as to future promotions.
