Order from the House of Representatives, directing the Committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of so amending an Act to annex the town of Litchfield to the County of Kennebec approved March 10. 1836 as to provide for the prosecution of any suit touching real estate then pending in any Court in the County of Lincoln to final judgement and execution - also to inquire into the expediency of providing by a general law for such future exigencies as many arise - read and passed in concurrence.

Petition of John D. Gibson and others, praying for protection in the occupation of their Mills, with liberty to make alterations in the same - read and referred to the Committee on Interior Waters. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Remonstrance of Thomas Hodgkin and others, inhabitants of Lewiston against abolishing Capital Punishments - read and referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration in concurrence.

Petition of the Selectmen of Madison, praying for the distribution of their proportion of the annual school fund to said town - read and referred to the committee on Literature and Literary Institutions in concurrence.
