Petition of Asaph Howard and others for an alteration of the Militia Law - - read and referred to the Committee on the Militia, in concurrence.

Petition of John Barker to be set off from the town of Hallowell and be annexed to Pittston, Remonstrance of Inhabitants of Dutton against the petition of Henry H. Snow and others, to set off a part of said Dutton to Levant, severally read and referred to the Committee on Division of Towns, in concurrence.

Mr. O'Brien, from the Committee on Division of Towns, reported leave to withdraw on petition of Henry H. Snow and others - - - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence Concurred.

Mr Tobin, from the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, reported order of notice on petition of William White and others, and William Hilton and others - - - read and accepted. Sent down for concurrence. Concurred.

Bill authorizing the United States of America to take and hold lands within this State for the purpose of erecting Light Houses thereon was taken up. The Senate recede from their vote of the 14th instant passing said Bill to be engrossed, adopt the amendment proposed by the House and pass the same to be engrossed as amended, in concurrence.
