Gray who enlisted in the 14th Reg Co (E) and has been at Home some time is still there and says that he has been to Bangor called on Gray Butler and could get no pass to Augusta and had no money to pay and unless and I think is stout able bodied man and is willing to return ( so he says) will you send me a pass for him and in the meantime I will learn more about him and if he is a shirking duty will arrest him. | ||

Dr. fri, I find here a letter from Penobscot that one G.M.
