�96 Royall L. Dodge - Bridgton Co. E. 12th reg't - Discharged by Lt. Col. Wm. K Kimball- Apr. 11 - '62. Given at Ship[Skip?] Island - approved by order of Maj. Gen. Butler, Geo. C. Strong, A.A.G. Caleb A. Chaplin - Bridgton - Co. E. 12th is at home, well[word underlined], says he has a discharge, but was obliged to send it to N.Y. to get his back pay. I know him well, & have no doubt his story is true. He has promised to bring his discharge to me next week. If there is anything different I will tell you. Charles C. Kneeland - Harrison - Co. D. 15th is at Lawrence at work in a factory - so I have not seen him - but his family & Nathaniel H. Leavy, Harrison - Co. D. 15th say, that he has a discharge just like Leavy's --both signed at Augusta - June 14th 1862; by Maj. J.W.T. Gardiner. Geo. Hill - Harrison, Co. I. 10th Me. Gone to Michigan. His family say he had a good discharge James L. Keen &} George Cassley, Harrison} Co. D. 15th minors --enlisted without consent of their fathers - deserted & I learn that Maj.
