day of September at said Fort Fairfield unlawfully and without any justifiable cause took the Ponds and chattels of the said Webster as aforesaid and them unlawfully detained to this day

to the damage of the said Webster as he says the sum of five hundred dollars

Provided he the said Webster Pilsbury and Taylor shall give bond to the said Parrott – with sufficient surety or sureties in the sum of the thousand dollars being twice the value of the said goods and chattels to prosicute [prosecute] the said [?] to final judgement and to pay such damages and costs as the said Parrott shall recover against him and also to return and restore the same goods and chattels in like good order and condition as when taken in case[?] such shall be the final judgement

know all men by these[?] presents that we Ebenezer Webster of Orono principal[?] and Sheppard Cary[?] and Zebulon Ingersoll of Houlton as sureties[?] are holden and stand firmly bound and obliged unto William P. Parrott of Fort Fairfield in the County of Aroostook in the full and just sum of one thousand dollars to the payment wherof [whereof?] well and truly to be made to him the said Parrott his heirs[?] executors administrators or assigns we bind ourselves and each of us our heirs[?] executors & administrators firmly by these presents sealed with our seals

dated this sixteenth day of September eighteen hundred thirty nine

The condition of this obligation is such that whereas the said Webster and John H[?] Pilsbury and James Tailor [Taylor] have this day commenced an action of replevin against the said Wm P Parrot for six barrells [barrels] of Pork and six barrells [barrels] of flour of the value of five hundred which the said Webster Pilsbury and Taylor say the said Parrott hath unlawfully taken detained till this day

Now therefor if the said Webster Pilsbury & Taylor shall prosecute the said replevin to final judgement and pay such damages and costs as the said Parrott shall recover[?] against them and also return and restore the same goods and chattels in like good order & condition as when taken if such shall be the final judgement then the above obligatio to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue[?]
