ordered that the Senate be requested to send to this House the petition of Henry Ball presented at the last session & now on the files - read & passed.

[Petition - Simon Renick]

Petition of Simon Bemick for leave to change his name - was read & referred to the committee on change of names.

[Bill - Beethoven Musc. Society]

Bill to incorporate the Beethoven Musical Society, was read a 1st & 2nd time & tomorrow at 10 o'clock assigned for a 3d reading.

[Remonstrance -]

Remonstrance of Phillip Page & al against the petition of Phillip Eastman & al, was read & referred to committee on so much of the Governors message as relates to Literature. Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - Kilmarnock]

Bill to incorporate the town of Kilmarnock, was read 1st & 2d time & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 3d reading.

Petition of John Attian & others of the Penebscot tribe of Indians for authority to sell a part of their lands & was read & referred to the committee on State Lands. Sent up for concurrence.

[Bill - Law of Road]

Bill establishing the law of the road, was read once & Tuesday next at 10 oclock assigned for 2d reading & 300 copies ordered to be printed.

Petition of Elijah North & als that the manufactures of tin may be exempted from the duty on Peddlers &c - was read & referred to messrs Winter, Hopkinson & Francis
