[page 749] A. No sir. Q. Wasn't your father employed very near there A. He has been the most of the time in the pump house in the field, nearly hald a mile from the engine room. Q. Was he round the engine room night and morning? A. Yes, sir. He came down about 5 oclock at night and went out about 730 in the morning. Q. How was it at night? A. He used to come in about 5 or half past Q. And stay until when? A. Some times until 10 or 11- I beg pardon, I think after he went to the pump house we didn't room quite as late as that. Q. How late will you say? A. The last of my staying there we used to get through about half past 6 or 7. As the season was earlier we got away earlier- earlier in the spring then in the winter. Q. What time did Haines use to come out? A. After breakfast, about half past 7 I think, and go away about half past 5. In the morning he would stay until half past 11 and then come out directly after dinner, perhaps at one oclock.
