| + | On motion by Mr Scamman, Ordered, that Messrs Scamman and Churchill with such as the House may join be a Committee to take into consideration the expediency of altering an Act entitled "An act authorizing a Lottery for the benefit of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal" passed February 11th " 1823 and An Act additional there to passed February 10th" 1824, entitled "An act for the prevention of Lotteries not authorized by Law, and to prohibit the sale or purchase of lottery tickets in this State" passed March 15th" 1821, and An Act additional thereto passed February 10th" 1823. and likewise to take into consideration the expediency if laying a duty upon the vendors of lottery tickets. Sent down for concurrence. Came up concurred and Messrs Boutelle, Slemmons and Hastings were joined by the House. | ||
