Petition of the town of Lisbon to be annexed to the County of Kennebec, taken from the last years files, referred in Senate 16 the Committee on the incorporation of towns for concurrence - & the House concurred.

Resolve making valid certain proceedings of the town of Clinton, was read & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Mr McLane of Hope had leave of absence after Wednesday next.

Bill to prevent expense in the collection of certain debts, (reported by the committee on that subject) was read [underlined]once & indefinitely postponed.

Bill in favor of Luke Lambert, (was reported as duly engrossed - and the House refused to pass the same to be enacted. - The question taken by yeas and Nays was decided as follows - Yeas 48 Nays 70 - Immediately on motion the last vote was reconsidered & the subject referred to Messrs McCobb of Phipsburg, Fessender of Portland and Merrill of Brunswick.

Bill to incorporate the General Hospital of Maine, was read a 2nd time & referred to Messrs Goodenow of Alfred, Sweat of Parsonsfield & Boutelle of Waterville.

Bills to incorporate the Bank of Maine. - in addition to an act "to incorporate the Pres. Dir. & Comp. of Cumberland Bank. - in addition to an act "to incorporate the Pres Dir. & Comp. of Casco Bank - - to regulate the taking of fish in Brooksville - - to incorporate the town of Whiting were severally passed to reenacted. Sent up for concurrence.
