Whereas certain affidavits of James Lander[?] & others have been submitted "for your consideration, in connection with charges filed by I.[?] A.[?] Lee[?] & others against S. W. Smith Indian Agent, under date of March 4th 1858", & as said affidavits were taken without notice to me, & without my knowledge, I herewith enclose for your consideration the affidavits of Hugh Slater, Solomon Coy[?], Chas.[?] R.[?] Pike, W. W. Pike,  Chas.[?] Sprague, Putnam [?]oy, James Lander[?], David[?] Curry[?], Patrick Welch, John McCarty[?], Chas.[?] S. Davis, Isaac Kennedy, C.[?] R.[?] [?]dden, & R. W. Smith; all relating to the matters contained in said charges, which I wish placed on the files with the other papers in the case.
